"Times have changed and even in the last 10 years internet wasn't as huge a part of promotion as it is now, and corporate radio didn't rule all the airwaves."

Bio
Andy is a 24-year-old son of a preacher man, ESOL high school teacher, and brother to an outstanding autistic Special Olympic athlete. Andy has come from a truly diverse background both socially, as well as musically. By growing up in Denver, Andy feels it rounded out his musical palette and helped point him in the direction of the music industry both as a performer and businessman.

Andy is currently a senior at the College of Arts and Media at the University of Colorado at Denver, seeking a degree in Music Management. Though higher education has had a significant impact on him, he feels experience is the best teacher. Eager to learn more from this next great experience as a member of the What's The Download Interactive Advisory Board, he feels he will be building on his talent and experience in promotions which is sought out by Nobody In Particular Presents (www.nipp.com), House of Blues, and a number of local bands and other musical organizations in his home town of Denver.

Between running his own postering and promotion company, Angry Burro Promotions, fronting his Funk/Rock Band, Bop Skizzum, and playing guitar in his new hip hop group, The Flobots , Andy has made career out of what he loves most - music. Andy can relate to the behind the scene forces that go into making the music business what it is. He believes, "Many of the major record companies simply haven't figured out a way to get ahead of the technological evolution that is the Internet and P2P file-sharing. Everyday I encounter the core of the record industry - the music lover - who wants nothing more than for the band or artists they love to succeed. I am not naive in the notion that most people do want to buy an artist's CD, as long as it is something they believe is quality. The days of buying a whole album for one or two songs are over."

Andy also thinks that major companies underestimate the music consumer. "People simply want to sample music before they buy it. Downloading a song or album is no different from going to the record store for a few hours and listening to the latest releases. The entire P2P file-sharing network offers a faster way for people to make up their mind. We all need to find a way to clear the red tape around this downloading issue. Many of these companies fear change, but there is no way to stop the technological train, so we all better get on board, or the whole industry will be left without a ticket!"
