Katherine's Quote
"I feel that it is up to young people, like me, to voice our opinions concerning the future. With important changes happening each and every day in the music world, it is crucial that we do not let these changes pass us by and dictate our future in terms of how we listen to music, what music is available for us to listen to and how loudly our voices are heard."

Bio
Katherine is a 20-year-old college junior from Broomall, Pa. She attends Drexel University in Philadelphia and is a Music Industry student as well as a member of the Pennoni Honors College. Katherine has been singing since she was a little girl and has always had a love of music and the music industry. She stepped inside her first recording studio at the age of 13 and has spent time in a number of other studios ever since. During her senior year of high school, Katherine interned at Sigma Sound Studios for a short period of time and decided that the music industry was where she wanted to be. In her free time, Katherine enjoys writing music and singing in her band, Echoes of Tomorrow, with her boyfriend. Upon graduating, Katherine plans on pursuing her MBA and her law degree with aspirations of becoming an Entertainment Lawyer.
When it comes to digital music and file-swapping, Katherine states, "A better understanding between the industry and the fans could solve a lot of problems. I believe, along with many other concerned listeners that many record companies focus on selling a product rather than providing one filled with quality music. If the industry can shift its concentration from money to art, and explain that shift to fans, more individuals would respect music, in turn, leading to a purchase rather than theft. By making fans aware of the enormous impact of illegal downloads, fans who enjoy music will realize that it is only through financial support of the artists' music that it will be preserved and multiplied for years to come."
