Spencer's Quote
"Record labels have not fully embraced digital technology and they have hurt the business, artists, and consumers. Downloading is here, it is old news and so what's next? This is what we have to be talking about."

Bio
Spencer is a 24-year-old graduate from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Music Business and Management. He has just recently moved to New York City to start his career in the music industry. He is also in the final stages of writing and producing his first album.
As part of his degree from Berklee, Spencer had to complete an internship within the music business and chose to do his internship at the well-respected advertising and marketing firm, Arnold Worldwide in Boston. While at Arnold, Spencer worked closely with his supervisor on a research project focusing on youth and music. Throughout the internship, Spencer interviewed Rolling Stone and WIRED magazine editors, record executives, retail executives, producers, and other established players in the music business. Spencer was also able to interact and interview numerous young people both online and on the street. He looked at what young people were listening to, how they were hearing about new music, and how they are accessing and owning music. Spencer also looked deeper into the issue and studied the role and power that music plays within young people and found that music is just as important to young people, if not more, than has ever been before.
From this project, some of the most interesting information came from discussions with young people about downloading, both legally and illegally. Spencer says, "In a time where the music industry is trying to catch up with the advances in technology and digital media, I am extremely optimistic and enthusiastic about the opportunities the Internet has created for artists and fans alike."
Along with the Internet, Spencer believes Satellite Radio is one of the best things to happen to music. “Satellite Radio has put life back into music; it offers everything and more than what today’s terrestrial FM stations have to offer.”
